Recycling Efforts
Hopefully
by now you have all heard about UMC's new Recycling Program.
I encourage all of you to actively participate in this program.
We, the UMC Student Association, have worked hard to make it as
easy as possible to recycle. UMC NEEDS to recycle. Prior
to this initiative, UMC was the only campus in the U of M system that
did not recycle.
We
are asking you to encourage, teach, and promote to others the
importance of recycling. More
importantly we need you to personally act and do your part.
We
have distributed cardboard boxes for paper recycling to all of the
faculty and staff on campus. If
for any reason you did not receive one of these, please let me know
and I will be sure to get you one ASAP.
All you have to do is recycle your paper and take them out to
the blue recycling bins in the hallway.
Also, we ask that you deposit any glass, plastic, or aluminum
into the appropriate bins in the hall.
Some cardboard bins will be located outside select locations.
Keep your eye out for them.
We have hired a student who will be emptying the bins
regularly. We are still
working on all the details and need your help to let us know if there
is a bin that is full or one that does not get used.
