Calling All Brainstormers December 12
The UMC Image Marketing Committee (IMC) wants you to brainstorm with other campus representatives for ideas to increase enrollment at UMC.  Bring your lunch to Sahlstrom Conference Center A & B at noon on Thursday, December 12, for an exercise in brainstorming.  This brainstorming session is open to all interested faculty, staff, and students.

UMC Admissions works very hard at recruiting students.  Together, IMC and Admissions are requesting your help in coming up with some ideas and solutions to assist campus recruitment efforts.  We all have a stake in the success of our recruitment efforts, and program areas are dependent upon how well we pursue and excite the prospective student.  Your input can be a key factor in increasing enrollment.

VolunTEAM Update
VolunTEAM Logo
This week’s featured Crookston VolunTEAM project is the Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) Grandparents’ Night, scheduled for Monday, November 25 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Lincoln School. Sandy Peterson, ECFE director, promises an evening of fun activities at stations designed for grandparents and grandchildren.  Volunteers are needed to assist with table activities, snacks, reading corners and clean-up, etc.

If you’re interested in helping out, or just want to know more about the project, please visit www.volunteam.org.  Sandy Peterson can be reached at 281-2159 or speterson@crookston.k12.mn.us.

The VolunTEAM is Crookston’s new volunteer clearinghouse, headquartered in Bede 106 at UMC.  Local agencies and organizations in need of volunteers to get project(s) done are encouraged to visit www.volunteam.org, click “Register a Project” and describe their need using as much detail as possible.  One simple click later, and the project will be on the site for potential volunteers to see.

In September, a UMC chapter of this new, community-wide volunteer clearinghouse, the UMC VolunTEAM Club, was born.  On the evening of Friday, December 6, the VolunTEAM Club will join 10 other UMC student clubs at the Winter Wonderland downtown.  The clubs’ home base will be at 103 South Broadway, where much holiday magic will be found.
