These activities are appropriate for children ages six months to 8 years of age. Information about each activity will be posted at each station for parents. This year’s expanded event is cosponsored by the UMC Early Childhood Club, Cathedral School, Crookston Childcare Association, Crookston Park and Recreation, Crookston Public Library, Early Childhood Family Education, Crookston Head Start, Parents Helping Parents, Retired Senior Volunteer Program, Sunrise Center, and UMC VolunTEAM. Downlink on Making Online Teaching and Learning Accessible April 22 Program Description: Faculty members teaching online often find themselves unsure about the best way to help students who have identified accessibility problems in their courses. Many disability support providers are ill-equipped to resolve these problems, and may pass them on to academic computing staff, who struggle to integrate them into their regular work. Faculty and staff need to work together successfully to address accessibility problems in the online environment. Colleges and universities must begin to think about accessibility plans for online courses and services that will serve the needs of all students. This moderated panel discussion considers the implications of accessibility for online education and suggests ways that faculty and staff can work together to address major challenges. The program is structured in three parts:

A team of UMC students involved in Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) earned SIFE Regional Champion status at the organization’s annual regional conference, held April 6 in Minneapolis. This is the fifth consecutive year UMC’s team has earned the title, making it the only college in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and North and South Dakota to achieve that feat. UMC’s team will now advance to the 2004 SIFE U.S.A. National Exposition on May 23-25 in Kansas City, Missouri, to compete against other regional champion teams from across the country. Other collegiate SIFE teams from throughout the Midwest that attended the regional competition but did not advance included Minot State University, Luther College, University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, South Dakota State University, North Dakota State University, Winona State University, and the University of Northern Iowa.
