Men's Football Home

Shannon Stassen has been with the University of Minnesota, Crookston since 1998.  An assistant coach and defensive coordinator for the football team during the 1998-2001 seasons, Stassen was named interim head coach in July of 2002.   In February of 2003 Stassen was officially named Head Football Coach of the Golden Eagles.

A native of Ogilvie, MN, Stassen graduated from Ogilvie High School in 1988.  He then attended the University of Minnesota, Crookston and played football for two seasons. He transferred to Brainerd Community College and received his A.A. Degree in 1991.  He received his B.S. in Health & Physical Education in 1995 from Valley City State University where he played football for two years and coached for three years (receivers and running backs). He then went to NDSU where he coached for two seasons (offensive line, tight ends, outside linebackers) and will receive his M.S. degree in Education / Athletic Administration. Shannon resides in Crookston with wife Jodi, son Marcus and daughter Grace.
