Singer Howie Day to Perform at UMC December 4Singer Howie Day will perform at the University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC) Monday, December 4, at 8 p.m. in Bede Ballroom. The performance is open to the public. Admission is free for UMC students with UCard ID and $2 for others. Based out of Belmont, Massachusetts, nineteen-year-old Day did not spend his senior year in high school like most students do. Instead he performed his blend of acoustic pop to audiences all over the country from Maine to San Francisco. He has performed over two hundred shows in the last twelve months and has shared the stage with acts like Jewel, Guster, Eve 6, Shawn Mullins, Edwin McCain, Sister Hazel, Vertical Horizon, and Hootie & The Blowfish. Day’s performances have drawn comparisons to artists such as Dave Matthews and Duncan Sheik. His constant touring has started to develop a growing following throughout the Northeast. In early November, Day released his first full-length CD, Australia. For more information, visit Day’s website: www.howieday.com. The performance is sponsored by the Student Programming and Activities for Campus Entertainment (SPACE) committee. Disability accommodations are available upon request and can be made by calling 218-281-8506.
