First Annual UMC Teambackers Red Lake Falls Golf Tournament Set for June 7
The University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC) Teambackers Club is pleased to announce its First Annual Red Lake Falls Texas Scramble on Thursday, June 7, 2001, at the Oak Knolls Golf Club in Red Lake Falls. All area golfers are invited to join several coaching staff members and others from UMC in a fun event with awards and prizes.
The entry fee is only $20. Proceeds after expenses will go toward a scholarship for a student athlete in the name of the Red Lake Falls Oak Knolls Golf Club.
The event will begin with registration at 9 a.m. and tee off at 9:30 a.m. Preselected teams of four are permissible.
Individuals without a team will be assigned to teams. The tournament will be limited to the first 90 golfers.
Sandwiches will be sold in the clubhouse throughout the day. Carts will be available. A social and awards program will begin at 3 p.m. in the clubhouse.
Registrations are urged by June 6 and can be sent to Michael LaPlante, Box 413, 708 Hamilton, Red Lake Falls, MN 56750 or Curt Almlie, UMC, 2900 University Ave., Crookston, MN 56716. Interested golfers may also sign up in person at the Oak Knolls Golf Clubhouse.
This event marks the first in a series of regional summer golf tournaments sponsored by UMC Teambackers and the UMC Alumni Association.
