Jim’s Big Ego to Highlight Snow Daze Coronation February 12

The rock band Jim’s Big Ego will perform at the University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC) on Monday, February 12, 2001, as part of UMC Snow Daze Coronation.  The group will perform in Bede Ballroom immediately following the coronation of UMC Snow Daze royalty, which will take place at 8 p.m.  Admission to the event is free, and the public is invited to attend.

Jim's Big Ego, a guitar, bass, and drums trio from Boston, creates a sound that has been described as "smart pop.” Comparisons to Beck, Barenaked Ladies, and Talking Heads place the band firmly in the realm of alternative pop/rock.

Jim's Big Ego is touring in support of its new CD “No Place Like Nowhere.”  The group has gained a sizeable following on college campuses and in cities throughout the Northeast largely due to their dynamic live performances and has shared the stage with such acts as 10,000 Maniacs, Jill Sobule, Dar Williams, Lloyd Cole, the Push Stars, and Ani Difranco.
