Local Band Afewshen to Play UMC May 1
Local rock band Afewshen will perform at UMC on Wednesday, May 1, starting at 8 p.m. in Bede Ballroom. Admission is free, and the performance is open to the public.
The band created its name by taking the number of its members "a few" and combining it with the word "shen," which is the Tao for spiritual energy. Afewshen is comprised of Jon Altepeter on guitar and vocals, Mark Proulx on lead vocals and guitar, and Jon's brother, Casey Altepeter, on drums.
The group just completed a full-length demo album, and are currently working on more material.
The performance is sponsored by UMC Student Programming and Activities for Campus Entertainment (SPACE).
