Julie from MTV's The Real World

Julie of MTV’s Real World to Speak at UMC November 13

Julie, a member of the cast of MTV’s The Real World New Orleans, will speak at the University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC) on Wednesday, November 13.  The event will begin at 8 p.m. in the newly renovated Kiehle Auditorium on the UMC Campus.  Admission is free and the event is open to the public.

With a very conservative background, Julie was brought up to "obey the rules" always, but quickly found out that she enjoyed breaking them.  She has been suspended from Brigham Young University because of her involvement with the MTV program.  She is currently capitalizing on her newly found stardom through a national speaking tour of college campuses—a part of the larger “Keeping It Real” Tour, involving many alumni of the MTV show.

Julie speaks about her behind-the-scenes experiences from the hit “reality TV” show and shares her positive message of self-discovery.  In addition to this tour, she is a national spokesperson for abstinence, a member of the "truth" campaign, and speaker against drug and alcohol abuse.

The appearance is cosponsored by UMC’s Concerts and Lectures Committee, the Alcohol an Other Drug Abuse Prevention (AODAP) Program, the Counseling and Career Center, Residential Life, Student Health Services, and S.P.A.C.E (Student Programming and Activities for Campus Entertainment) Committee.  Disability accommodations are available upon request and can be made by calling 218-281-8506.
