Northwest School of Agriculture Reunion June 25, 26, 2004

Six alumni will be honored at the annual Northwest School of Agriculture (NWSA) Alumni Reunion, scheduled for Friday, June 25, and Saturday, June 26, at the University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC).  Receiving the “Top Aggie Awards” for 2004 will be:  Stan Alseth ’35 of Baltimore, Maryland; Evelyn Holy Bancroft ’54 of St. Cloud, Minnesota; Margaret Lerud Garr ’34 of Grand Forks, North Dakota; Bill Gatheridge ’64 of Crookston, Minnesota; Richard Holmgren ’33 of Warroad, Minnesota; and Wayne Odegaard ’64 of Alexandria, Minnesota.

In addition, the NWSA classes of 1924, 1929, 1934, 1939, 1949, 1954, 1959, and 1964 will gather for special class meetings.

Festivities begin on Friday, June 25, at 5:30 p.m. as alumni members gather for a fish fry and social just outside the Kiehle Building on the UMC campus.

Registration begins on Saturday, June 26, at 8 a.m. and continues through 5 p.m. in the Kiehle Rotunda.  Saturday’s events include golf at Minakwa Golf Club in Crookston beginning at 9:30 a.m.  Attendees may alternately choose to attend a garden tour at 9 a.m. at the Peterson Gazebo on the UMC campus mall.  Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. 

The annual business meeting will take place at 1 p.m. in Kiehle Auditorium, followed by “A Really Big Show” honoring the Class of 1954.  Class photos will be taken from 2 to 3 p.m. in Kiehle, followed by individual class meetings from 3 to 5 p.m.

A buffet dinner is set for 5:30 p.m. in Brown Dining Room, followed by a program at 6 p.m. to honor the Top Aggies for 2004.

The NWSA Alumni Association represents graduates of the residential high school, which operated from 1905 through 1968 on what is now the campus of the University of Minnesota, Crookston.  There are 5,433 NWSA alumni of record.
