Northwind Crossing was formed in 1999 and has performed throughout northern Minnesota at theaters, clubs, resorts, conventions, trade shows, ethnic and community celebrations, county fairs, coffeehouses, churches, weddings, and parties.  Fran Gack from Akeley Minnesota is featured on fiddle, mandolin, guitar and vocals; Tamie Jensen, who lives on Island Lake in Becker County Minnesota, on Irish tin whistles, recorders, accordion, Celtic harp and vocals; Bill Meyer from Wolf Lake Minnesota on rhythm guitar and vocals; Elijah Jensen on bodhran, autoharp, Celtic harp, and accordion; and Willis Mattison, from Osage Minnesota, who plays bass guitar and also acts as the narrator/historian for the group. The performance includes "story-telling" that presents the historical contexts for many of the tunes and songs. The stories provide brief glimpses into the rich cultural heritage of this art that is Celtic music.

The performance will include Irish step dancing by Gail Johnson of Fergus Falls, who studied Appalachian clogging under Vicki Moss of the Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago and Irish step dancing from Barb McNulty of the McNulty Irish Dancers of Park Ridge, IL.

“Skye Vision - A Celtic Dream” is the title of Northwind Crossing’s first compact disc album and features some of the band’s most popular Celtic songs and tunes.  The band's next CD, "A Cold Winter's Day" containing seasonal Holiday music has just been released and is being performed throughout Northern Minnesota at concerts entitled: "A Very Celtic Christmas.
