That album was the culmination of his interesting in music. He was 19 years old when he started playing the guitar, but he had been singing since the age of 13. Ironically, he was the only child in his family not encouraged to pursue music. His interests include writing prose, poetry, and screenplays. He has also traveled to southwestern Minnesota to study writing under Bill Holm and Howard Mohr—all the while continuing to work on his skills as a songwriter. His love of jazz vocalease led him to a short stint studying with jazz singer Kurt Elling in Chicago. Christian and his band, Texas Drift, are scheduled to record a second album in December of 2003.
