Musical Duo Easily Amused to Perform at UMC January 28

The pop/rock duo Easily Amused will perform at the University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC) Wednesday, January 28, at 8 p.m., in the Eagles Nest Lounge, Sahlstrom Conference Center.  The event is free and open to the general public.

Easily Amused is Renée Lamoureux and Keith Macpherson.  Hailing from Winnipeg, Canada, the two have been gradually gaining mainstream recognition since the release of their debut independent CD Novice in 2001.  Two years and 400 live performances later, Lamoureux and Macpherson have garnered Canadian Music Week’s award for Best Online Indie Artist and are poised for a much bigger breakthrough with their just-released second CD Simple Stuff.

Easily Amused’s passion for performing and endearing, kids-next-door personalities make for a live show that consistently wins over audiences in any setting, including clubs, theaters, and outdoor festivals.  Memorable dates included opening stints for the Crash Test Dummies, the North by Northeast Festival, and Canadian Music Week.  Their persistent barnstorming of American campuses has landed them a 2002-2003 nomination and win in the category of Best College Music Duo in the U.S. by CampusAwards.com.

The performance is sponsored by UMC’s S.P.A.C.E. (Student Programming and Activities for Campus Entertainment) Committee.  Disability accommodations are available upon request.  For more information, call 218-281-8506.
