Semester Transition Workshops for Students Set for May 5, 7, 8

In the fall of 1999, the entire University of Minnesota System will make a transition from a quarter-based calendar to a semester-based calendar. "Transition students" are students who are attending UMC under the quarter system and who will attend UMC under the semester system. Students who graduate before fall of 1999 will not be affected by the change to semesters.

The workshops will:

• answer some common questions about semesters
• introduce students to new transition tools
• explain options available to students to complete either quarter or semester requirements
• provide tips to make for a smooth transition.

Workshop sessions are scheduled for:

Tuesday, May 5th at 12:00 noon;
Thursday, May 7th at 3:00 and 5:00 p.m.;
Friday, May 8th at 9:00 a.m.

All sessions will be held in Dowell Hall 115.
