on Display Nov. 10

Violence Intervention Project will display their "Spirit of Doves" project Monday, November 10, 1997 at the University of Minnesota Crookston in Bede Lounge, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The display includes shirts and personal items decorated by victims of domestic violence, sexual abuse, and child abuse.Victims have artistically expressed their messages of pain, healing, and hope to society. A written story of the victim's life accompanies each shirt.

This project was modeled after the Minnesota Coalition for Battered Women's clothes Project. Victims will be represented form Region 1 Minnesota including the countries of Pennington, Polk, Red Lake, Roseau, Marshall, Kittson, and Norman.

The Spirit of Doves will send a powerful message of hope to other victims and spread awareness to those who can help. Violence affects all of us our families, friends, and loved ones. Take this time to educate yourself about violence in our society and what each of us can do to end the cycle. Remember, if you are not part of the solution, you're part of the problem.
