Prince and Princess at UMC Ag-Arama 1999

Paul Detloff of Bertha and Amber Noble of Arco were crowned 1999 Prince and Princess at the annual University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC) Ag-Arama which was held recently at the University Teaching and Outreach Complex.

Other royalty includes Angie Pommerening, Hastings; Holly Wildman, Brooten; Barb Heinze, Belgrade; Freddy Mogensen, Brainerd, Lucas Clow, Barrett and Frank Neft, Kelliher.

Ag-Arama provides students the opportunity to showcase their knowledge and skills in their individual interest areas. Contests were held in horticulture, agriculture aviation, agronomy, soils, natural resources, mechanized agriculture and animal science showmanship.

Ag-Arama was planned by a committee of students and advised by a faculty member of the agricultural management division, Larry Leake, assistant professor and program manager of agricultural aviation.

Through Ag-Arama, students learn organizational skills by serving on committees. Ag-Arama gives students the opportunity to interact with each other and with faculty members through the various contests.
