| 1999 Red River Valley
Economics Challenge The 1999 Red River Valley Economics Challenge was held at the University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC) on April 22. Teams of students representing high schools in northwestern Minnesota and eastern North Dakota were invited to compete in a series of challenging tests of their economic understanding and reasoning abilities. Participants competed in both individual and team competition. The competition consists of a total of four rounds, one in each of the following categories: Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, International Economics and Comparative Systems & Economic Applications and Potpourri. The teams were divided into two divisions, "small schools" and "large schools." Teams competing in the "small school division" were Larimore 1, Larimore 2, LaPorte, Fertile/Beltrami 1 and Fertile/Beltrami 2. Teams competing in the "large school division" were Fargo South, Grand Rapids 1, Grand Rapids 2, Red River 1 and Red River 2. Trophies were given to 1st and 2nd place teams in each division. Medals & cash were given for the individuals winners in each of the divisions from 1st 4th place. Individual Winners SMALL SCHOOL DIVISION
