Crookston-Lucilles
Kitchen Conversation Continues March 2 Citizens from Crookston and North Minneapolis will have another conversation on Tuesday, March 2, and the whole state can listen. The Crookston connection will take place at 133 Kiehle on the University of Minnesota, Crookston Campus beginning at 8:30 a.m. North Minneapolis citizens will gather at Lucilles Kitchen. Minnesota Public Radio will carry the conversation live on all their stations beginning at 9:00 a.m. The first in this series of conversations held February 9, generated a lot of interest and public attention. Citizens from the very urban community of North Minneapolis listened and responded to issues raised by citizens at Crookston. Those gathered at Crookston talked about issues important to them including the farm economy and the future of the Red River Valley. Speaking at Crookston were Milo Mathison, Carolyn Weber, Lynn Mullins, and Steve Hannah. Citizens from NW Minnesota are invited to participate, observe, or listen in to the next conversation. At a time when the gap between urban and rural seems to be widening, this project helps bring citizens together to explore what they have in common. The goal is to build understanding for the common good of Minnesota. Disability accommodations available upon request. Please call 218-281-8680.
