Schools: Rural-Urban Conversation Set for April 20, 1999
The next conversation with our urban neighbors at Lucilles Kitchen in north Minneapolis will focus on K-12 Education. The community is invited to participate in the discussion which goes live on Minnesota Public Radio all across the state. The focus will be on challenges facing schools in rural Crookston and urban North Minneapolis. School Superintendents from both districts are invited as special guests. Citizens at each location will have opportunity to make comments and ask questions, and phone calls will be taken from the radio listening audience. If you cant join the group at UMC, we invite you to listen on any Minnesota Public Radio Station. Connecting Lucilles Kitchen and the University of Minnesota, Crookston provides opportunity for citizens from different backgrounds to explore common interests. At a time when the disconnect between urban and rural seems to be widening, this project uses technology to connect citizens around issues that are important to the public good. Disability accommodations available upon request. For more information call: Carolyn Weber at 218-281-1832, or Barbara Muesing at 218-281-8680. Related UMC News Releases and Sites Conversation
