Snow Daze Scheduled for Feb. 8-13 at UMC

"Shipwrecked in Crookston 99" is the theme for the 1999 Snow Daze at the University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC). The big week is February 8 through 13.

Events begin Monday, February 8, with a Snow Sculpture Competition. The community is invited to drive through the campus to view the snow sculptures made by students.

Coronation of Snow Daze King and Queen and Prince and Princess will take place on Monday, February 8, at half-time of the UMC men’s basketball game. The Royal Court will reign over Snow Daze week.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, February 9 and 10, the play "No Witness" will be held at 7:00 p.m. in Kiehle auditorium. The play is about date rape, and members of the audience become jury participants. The play is free and open to the public.

Wednesday evening, February 10, is a dance with Kid Hollywood and the Wild Coconuts from 9:30 to 12:30 p.m. in Bede Ballroom. Cost is $5 for non-UMC students.

"Murder at Sunset Lodge," a play written and directed by UMC Student Eric Perkins of Crookston, will be performed February 12 – 15 in Kiehle auditorium. All shows are at 7:30 p.m. except The Sunday performance which is a 3:00 p.m. matinee.
