$10,000 Added to Veden Scholarship Fund

Ken Broin, lead trustee for the Dr. Frank Veden Trust, recently announced the awarding of an additional $10,000 to the Veden Scholarship Endowment at the University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC).

Frank Veden, DDS, or "Doc" as he is called by his many friends in Fergus Falls, was born in Wadena, graduated from Detroit Lakes High School and the University of Minnesota Dental School. He practiced dentistry in Fergus Falls for 54 years.

The Dr. Frank W. Veden Scholarship is given to students who express an intent to pursue a career in the health care field and indicate a desire to live and utilize their training in a rural setting. Preference is given to first year students with a GPA in the 2.0 to 3.0 range.

A total of four scholarships are now being awarded annually. Students interested in a Health Management Career from Fergus Falls and the surrounding area are encouraged to apply.
