Two UMC Students to Compete in Zone-Level Equestrian Competition

Two students attending the University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC) recently qualified to participate in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Zone 6 Championship Show, to be hosted by the University of Findlay in Findlay, Ohio.  

Rana Scanlon of Minneapolis, Minnesota, qualified in Hunt Seat Equitation in Class 2 - Walk-Trot-Canter.  Fellow UMC student Hillary Ness of Chisago City, Minnesota, qualified in Western Equitation in Class 13 - Advanced Horsemanship.  

Both riders will compete on Friday, April 21, at the Zone 6 IHSA Championship Show, in Findlay, Ohio.  The riders qualified for this competition at the Zone 6, Region 4 Championship Show on March 25, 2000, hosted by UMC.  If Scanlon and Ness qualify at the Ohio competition, they will be eligible to compete at the National IHSA Championship Show at the Georgia Horse Park near Atlanta, Georgia, May 12-14, 2000.
