Marcoux Corner to Perform Feb. 9A Cappella group Marcoux Corner will perform at the University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC) on Wednesday, February 9, 2000, as part of UMC Snow Daze Week. The group will be performing in Bede Ballroom beginning at 8:00 p.m.
Marcoux Corner is a high-energy, four-piece a cappella ensemble that samples musical styles and songs from a huge spectrum of popular music throughout the century. The group, named after a regional landmark on Highway 2 between Crookston and Bemidji, was honored with the opportunity to open for the Beach Boys at the Fargodome. They were also honored with the first place trophy in the Minnesota State Fair, County Fair division, amateur talent contest and performed at the grandstand for three thousand people. Admission to the event will be free to UMC students showing their U Card student ID and $2.00 for all others. Disability accommodations for the event can be made by calling 218-281-8587 |
