Owen Smith to Perform At UMC
Oct. 18, Bede Ballroom, 8 p.m.

Stand-up comedian Owen Smith will perform on the UMC campus Monday, October 18, in Bede Ballroom at 8:00 p.m.  The performance is free and open to the public.  It is sponsored by UMC S.P.A.C.E. (Student Programming and Activities for Campus Entertainment).

Owen Smith, comedian/actor, was born in Nassau, Bahamas, and raised in the Washington DC area. Smith's unique ability to look at this rough society and still paint a clean picture has audiences gasping for air all over the country!

Destined for success and longevity, this energetic 1995 Notre Dame graduate has already logged appearances on NBC's "Friday Night," BET's "Comic View," HBO's "Def Comedy Jam," and the hit ABC sitcom "Cupid."   Clearly one of the hottest young comics today, this Island native's smooth style blends pure creativity with class and unparalleled genius.

"I do not remember when I laughed so hard...My mother-in-law had to take her inhaler twice during the show."  --Iris Outlaw, University of Notre Dame

"Uncommonly universal...the Tiger Woods of comdey!"  --George Wallace

"This young man will be one of the most feared comics in the business!"  --D.L. Hughley, of ABC's "The Hughley's"
