Comedian Jon Reep to Perform at UMC March 6 Comedian John Reep, known as “The Hickory Dancin’ Machine,” will perform at the University Minnesota, Crookston (UMC) on March 6. The performance is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. in Bede Ballroom on the campus. The event is free and open to the public. Reep’s material has been described as a combination of Jim Carey’s physical comedy and Robin Williams’ wit and spontaneity. He is known for his Burger King jokes and for his not-so-gentle ribbing of Southern culture. A native of Hickory, NC, Reep got his start in the comedy clubs of Raleigh, NC. He later went on to become a finalist in HBO’s Comedy Arts Festival in Atlanta. He has performed in nationally acclaimed clubs such as Dangerfield’s in New York and The Laugh Factory in Los Angeles. The show is suitable for the entire family, “unless you’re in some weird cult that doesn’t like dancing hillbillies who talk about sports,” according to Reep. The evening’s events are sponsored by UMC’s S.P.A.C.E (Student Programming and Activities for Campus Entertainment) Committee. Disability accommodations are available upon request and can be made by calling 218-281-8587. Reep is managed by Group H Entertainment, Pawleys Island, SC, (843) 2357-3040. For more information,
