Instructions for using Dell C610 Laptops with classroom projectors
 
FOLLOWING LIST OF ROOMS PERTAIN:
Dowell 106, 116, 121, 125, 200, 206, 207, 212, 220, 225, 300, 301
Hill 4, 102, 104, 108, 112 & 215
Owen Hall 111, 205, 208, 222
CESB 103, UTOC 120 & 130
Media Services check out projectors (K668, K680, K683 & K685)

1- Make all connections (FIRST)
2- Power ON Video Projector (REMOTE CONTROL)
3- Power ON Computer

If at this point your resolution is at 1024 X 768, and you can see the full screen on the projector and on your laptop, you may skip the remaining steps, if not, do the following:

4- At DESKTOP - RIGHT CLICK (in open area)
5- LEFT CLICK - Properties
6- LEFT CLICK - Settings
7- Change SCREEN RESOLUTION to 1024x768 (800x600 for Owen 111 & CESB 103)
8- LEFT CLICK - Apply
9- LEFT CLICK - Yes
10- LEFT CLICK - Advanced
11- LEFT CLICK - Displays
12- LEFT CLICK - on the word Monitor in pictorial (not Monitor TAB)
13- Under Monitor Attributes, if DDC button is checked, LEFT CLICK to turn it off
14- Change Maximum Resolution to 1024 X 768 (800x600 for Owen 111 & CESB 103)
15- LEFT CLICK - Apply
16- LEFT CLICK -- Yes
17- LEFT CLICK - OK
18- Set PANEL to Primary (by clicking Left Blue Box under Panel in pictorial)
19- LEFT CLICK - Apply
20- LEFT CLICK - Yes
21- LEFT CLICK - OK
22- LEFT CLICK - OK

You may now open any program and toggle (Fn-F8) to view on both your
laptop & the Projector screen simultaneously or select either one separately.

 
To project a video clip, in a Power Point presentation, you must go back to
Settings, Advanced, Displays, then set Monitor to Primary (by clicking Left
Blue Box under Monitor in pictorial (not Monitor TAB) This will show the
video clip on the Monitor leaving a black space on the Laptop, you must
change the Panel back to Primary to return the image to the Laptop.

 

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING DELL (MODEL C610) COMPUTER
IN CLASSROOMS WITH OLD VIDEO PROJECTORS

1- Make all connections (FIRST)
2- Power ON Video Projector
3- Power ON Computer
4- At DESKTOP - RIGHT CLICK (in open area)
5- LEFT CLICK - Properties
6- LEFT CLICK - Settings
7- LEFT CLICK - Advanced
8- LEFT CLICK - Displays
9- LEFT CLICK -The word MONITOR in the pictorial (not MONITOR TAB)
10- Under Monitor Attributes, if DDC button in checked, LEFT CLICK to turn it off
11- Change MAXIMUM RESOLUTION to 640 X 480
12- LEFT CLICK - Apply
13- LEFT CLICK - YES
14- LEFT CLICK - OK
15- LEFT CLICK - OK

You may now open any program and toggle (Fn-F8) to view on both your
laptop & the Projector screen simultaneously or select either one separately.

The image on the projector spills over the sides of the screen and by moving
the cursor UP, DOWN, LEFT or RIGHT, you can see the information
.
