      <title>New HP Computers are Delivered to U of M, Crookston</title>
      <description>&lt;p&gt;On Wednesday afternoon, August 20, 1200 HP Computers were delivered to campus. UMC&amp;rsquo;s Computer personnel are busy unpacking and processing the computers. Then the new Fall 2008 software load will be installed.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Plans call for full-time students to be issued&amp;nbsp;their new notebook computer on Monday, August 25 from 8 a.m. to Noon.&amp;nbsp; New students are scheduled to pick up their computers on Monday from Noon to 6 p.m.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;This is the fifteenth year that the U of M, Crookston has issued notebook computers to its students. In fact, it was the first campus in the nation to provide notebook computers to all faculty and full-time students in 1993. This year marks the first time the campus has selected a computer from Hewlitt Packard.&lt;hr /&gt;&lt;/p&gt;</description>

Building on the energy of the last three years, the University of Minnesota, Crookston is looking forward to an exciting fall semester. From August 18-22, 2008, faculty and staff at the Crookston campus&amp;nbsp;are fucusing&amp;nbsp;on a week of preparation and planning prior to the beginning of fall semester. U of M, Crookston Chancellor Charles H. Casey addressed the faculty and staff during a luncheon on Monday, Aug. 18, on the this year&amp;rsquo;s theme for opening week, &amp;ldquo;Momentum.&amp;rdquo; &lt;/p&gt;

The State of Minnesota House of Representatives Agriculture Committee, including Rep. Al Juhnke, chair, Ag Finance, and Rep. Mary Ellen Otremba, chair, Ag Policy, among others, visited and toured the Crookston Campus Monday, August 18.&amp;nbsp; &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;In addition to touring the facilities co-located on campus, the delegation met with representatives from the Agriculture Utilization Research Institute (AURI); the Northwest Minnesota Area Health Center; University of Minnesota Extension, Crookston Regional Center; the Northwest Regional Sustainable Development Partnership; the Northwest Research and Outreach Center (NWROC); and academic departments of the U of M, Crookston.&lt;hr /&gt;&lt;/p&gt;</description>
