This business competition is a great way for high school students to learn more about the different areas of business (management, marketing, accounting/finance), and how these functions all work together in a business. Students will be given a business scenario, or case study, prior to the event (students will need to complete some work prior to the event).  Students will be asked to make management, marketing, accounting, and finance decisions.  They will also be given an interactive game (in excel), or simulation, to help them to make their decisions!  After making their business decisions, students will present their recommendations using a poster-presentation format.   Winning teams will be recognized at an award ceremony at the end of the day.

This event is specifically designed for high school students. After attending this event students will:

  • Have a better knowledge of basic management, marketing and accounting/finance concepts
  • Have experience completing a case study, which is a common assessment activity/assignment in college courses
  • Experienced the UMC campus and have a better idea of what they can expect in their college classes
