Commencement Exercises Held for the Class of 2017

More than 180 graduates from the Class of 2017 crossed the stage during commencement exercises held on Saturday, May 6, 2017. Leading the processional was W. Daniel Svedarsky, Ph.D., who carried he mace along with Faculty Marshal Sharon Stewart, Ph.D. graduation processional
Interim Chancellor Barbara Keinath presided over the commencment and greetings from the University of Minnesota Board of Regents was brought by the Honorable Thomas Anderson. In recognition of the 50th anniversary of the University of Minnesota Crookston as an institution of higher education, U of M President Eric Kaler addressed the graduates providing words of wisdom, encouragement, and advice.   
"As we all celebrate your graduation, I do hope you will keep in mind not only the fun times and the ah-hah moments of the past four years, but also the power of public higher education and what we at the University embrace." - President Eric Kaler
Interim Vice Chancellor Soo-Yin Lim-Thompson presented the candidates while Regent Anderson conferred the degrees. President of the Crookston Student Association Dalton Javner accepted the torch and addressed the class on behalf of the student body.
