So MinneSOta Celebrates ALL Things Minnesotan

So MinneSOta! is an event celebrating Minnesota’s culture, people, food, products, industry, and natural resources. It will take place on Monday, October 30, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Northern Lights Lounge and International Lounge of Sargeant Student Center. Everyone is so MinneSOtawelcome to attend.

Vendor booths featuring Minnesota products and industries, informational booths about Minnesota activities, displays, a poster fair, a butter sculpting contest, a beet throwing contest, and "elotes locos" or corn decorating with the new U of M Crookston League of Latinx will be part of the day’s events.

Special guest Emily Annexstad, Princess Kay of the Milky Way 2017, will be on hand and will judge the butter sculpting contest. Annexstad is a sophomore at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities studying animal science and agricultural communications and marketing

The first 100 students to complete a passport will receive a free Minnesota "Homegrown" or "Transplant" t-shirt. T-shirts will also be on sale. 

Additionally, a special, multicultural Made in Minnesota Meal will be offered from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Brown Dining Room featuring Minnesota themed menu choices and desserts. Students on meal plans may eat as usual, and others may purchase the meal for regular door prices of $8.20 including tax.

So MinneSOta! is co-sponsored by Diversity & Multicultural Programs, Academic Success Center, Career Center, International Programs, Facilities & Operations, Library Services, Student & Family Experience, SPACE, CSA, the UMC Bookstore, and Minnesota businesses and industries.
