Softball Fall Camp
UMC Softball Fields

The University of Minnesota Crookston softball program will hold a Fall Camp Sat., Sept. 15. The camp will have two sessions at $50 for each camp or a discounted $90 for both sessions. The first session will run from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. and will focus on hitting, while the second session will take place from 1 p.m.-3 p.m. and will key in on defense and pitching.

The hitting portion will focus on hitting mechanics that mimic the top hitters in the game, including drills and tools for improving contact, exit velocity, power and mechanics.

The defensive portion will focus on footwork, transfers/glove work, angles to improve range and fielding, and the pitching session will focus on movement of the fundamental pitches, velocity, and video of the game’s top pitchers including drills to help mechanics.

UMC Peterson Classroom, Heritage Hall

Technology Support Services has partnered with EdTechTeam to offer Camp Google, originally scheduled for Monday, June 18, and Tuesday, June 19, in the Peterson Classroom, Heritage Hall on campus has now been CHANGED TO THURSDAY, OCTOBER 18 & FRIDAY, OCTOBER 19, 2018. Registration for each day begins at 8 a.m. with sessions held from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Cost per attendee is $199 for one day or $299 for both days. Camp Google will offer two full days with an engaging trainer/educator and focus on lesson ideas for the classroom with Google tools as the foundation. Attendees may elect to attend either day or both.

Day 1 (October 18) will focus on exploring practical implementation of the G Suite toolset in the classroom. The day will take a systematic look at how students and teachers can use G Suite within an educational framework. Participants leave with templates, resources and best practices for using Google Apps in meaningful ways with students. Day 2 (October 19) at Camp Google will focus on Google’s GeoTools such as Maps, MyMaps, TourBuilder and more. Attendees will also learn about 360° imagery and the story telling that goes with it.

Horseback Riding Instructor Evaluation Clinic w Certification by CHA
UMC University Teaching and Outreach Center

UMC will host its first ever Horseback Riding Instructor Evaluation Clinic with Certification by CHA (Certified Horsemanship Association) Friday, July 27 through Tuesday, July 31, in the UTOC arena.

This clinic is an All Discipline Standard Instructor Certification Clinic. Riding Instructors can be certified for the discipline they teach, in Western and/or English seats.

The cost of this clinic is $800, which includes the use of horses and tack, lunch daily, manuals and CHA certification/membership fees.

Space is limited.

Minnesota Crookston men's basketball program will also host their second annual Varsity Team Camp Fri., June 22. Games will take place all day with a four-game guarantee. The games will be played at Lysaker Gymnasium and the Minnesota Crookston Wellness Center. The camp costs $200 per team. Minnesota Crookston t-shirts will also be available to participants.

The University of Minnesota Crookston volleyball program is hosting a Positional Day Camp on July 11, beginning with check-in at 8 a.m. It is available to players entering grade 7 to players entering college. The cost of the camp is $25 per session and $80 for all sessions. The sessions will run from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The first session will focus on attacking and blocking and will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. The second session will focus on passing and defense and will run from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Lunch will be served in Brown Dining Center from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The serving session will then commence at 12:30 p.m. and run until 2 p.m. The final session will focus on setting and will take place from 2 p.m. until 3:30 p.m.

The camp is available to players entering grades six and under. Registration is $60 and includes a gift for all participants. Check-in for the camp will be at 8:30 a.m., with the camp taking place from 9-11:30 a.m. The camp will feature instruction from Minnesota Crookston Head Coach Sarah Rauen, Assistant Coach Anna Morgan and current Golden Eagle volleyball players.

The University of Minnesota Crookston volleyball program is offering is a Golden Eagles Skill Camp from July 12-13 at the Minnesota Crookston Sports Center. The camp is available to players entering grades seven to players entering college.  The camp runs from July 12 at 1 p.m. to July 13 at 3 p.m. Campers have the option to commute to the camp or stay on-campus during the duration of the camp. The cost for a commuter is $150 and the cost for a resident is $200. Participants also have the option to request a roommate. Campers will receive instruction from the Minnesota Crookston volleyball coaches and current players. Participants will also receive a camp gift.

The Minnesota Crookston High School Football Camp will be Sunday, July 22 for grades 10-12.  This is a non-contact, non-padded football camp and will include: speed and agility training, combine testing, position specific coaching, individual instruction, drill work and competitive situations. The camp also includes important information regarding academic eligibility, the recruiting process and other character components that can make or break a football career. The camp will start with check-in at 12:30 p.m.

The University of Minnesota Crookston football program will host two youth camps Wed., April 25 and Wed., May 2. The camps will be $20 per participant and will commence with registration at 5:30 p.m. at the Minnesota Crookston Sports Center. The camp is available for student-athletes in grades 5-8.

The camp will run from 6-8 p.m. on the campus of University of Minnesota Crookston. The campers will learn general football skills and will develop their skills through position specific drills. They will receive instruction from the Minnesota Crookston football staff and players.

The Lacrosse Academy Summer Camp - CANCELED

The University of Minnesota campus in Crookston is just 30 minutes east of Grand Forks, ND. This camp location will draw players from Grand Forks, Fargo, Bemidji, Minot and across NW Minnesota and North Dakota. We are a teaching camp and we take an individualized approach with every camper - from new players to experienced players, who need to refine and elevate essential skills.  Every camper will still receive our signature One-on-One private lesson during the week and a Lacrosse Academy tee shirt and practice reversible. The Lacrosse Academy will be bringing in coaches from the east coast to assist with the camp.
