Places to Dine at UMC

Meal Plans

In order to meet campus dining needs, Sodexo has several meal plans to choose from. If you need to purchase a meal plan, or if you would like to make a change to the plan you have already selected, simply contact Angelika Huglen.

Eagle Bucks

Students and employees not on a meal plan are able to buy Eagles Bucks and have them loaded onto their UCards.  The Eagle Bucks on your UCard function as a debit card (as at any of UMC’s food venues, as well as at Hong’s Chinese Restaurant.  Eagle Buck purchasers can receive an extra 10% bonus (e.g. $110 of Eagle Bucks for $100) when they buy at least $100 of Eagle Bucks.  Employees can purchase Eagle Bucks with a check, cash or credit card from the Eagle’s Nest cashier.

Student Emergency Meal Program

The Office of Student Affairs and Sodexo (UMC’s Food Service management partner) are establishing a process by which students in a financial crisis can receive Emergency Meal Tickets. This short term resource is intended to help students in need to put together a sustainable plan to address the crisis at hand. Employees should direct students in financial crisis to contact Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, Peter Phaiah or UMC’s Director of Financial Aid and Scholarships, Melissa Dingmann to discuss the program and other options.

Student Workers

Sodexo, UMC’s Food Service management company, is looking for student workers to fill a variety of positions for all of its food venues and catering operations. These are non-federal College Work Study position. Students are paid for their hours of work and are provided a meal during each of the shifts they work. This is an excellent way to make money and reduce your meal expenses. Contact Paige Clark for further information.

Student Interns

Sodexo America LLC at UMC offers various internship opportunities for students in different majors (e.g. marketing, business, accounting, sustainability, etc.). Some of these are paid positions and can lead to employment with Sodexo worldwide.
